The same shot as a previous upload, but a different crop and converted to mono....

Prefer the first, focus is spot on, this however is not to my liking sorry a little too mind boggling sky seems alot more blury here but the first is amazing.

Re: The "Ive taken a pic and I kinda like it" thread
Not a patch imo, it was the colours and composition that worked so well in the first.

Re: The "Ive taken a pic and I kinda like it" thread
Thanks for the feedback guys...whilst I agree it's not a patch on the original (the colours made it for me, i'm a sunset shooter at heart) I still like this too.
Regarding the sky, it shouldn't be any more blurry as it's not been touched besides a touch of burning, but the blackness has really brought out the movement.

Re: The "Ive taken a pic and I kinda like it" thread
Wellt he light intensity is a little stron is what i ment as it is one tone of colour rather than a range, thats what makes it look more blury for me sorry, but as i said the first is amazing! very good photographer!

Nice, The road that branches off to the right and downwards is called "The struggle" IIRC? ... I took this photo along that road...

Re: The "Ive taken a pic and I kinda like it" thread
Took a couple of shots today at work that I think came out quite well.
Couple of engineers going on to the jack up barge via the basket lift. Converted to B&W as I think it works better (was a really miserable day anyway, no colour in the sky)

This little bird (smallest in the UK iirc) and his mates were all over the turbines today, he came on (and in) the boat countless times, really quick movers. This was the sharpest image I could get of him.

First time I've had a go at any 'proper' photography for a while! Trying to get back into it again. Nikon D3100 with standard kit lens, just tweaked the exposure etc via the Photoshop RAW editor - no filters or anything.
