I'm assuming the idea behind tags is that if someone searches the site with a word i've used as a tag it will come up in the search results?

Yup. Can try adding some of your photos to Groups as well. Just find a few relevant Groups, join them then add some photos to them.

Tags are best though imo, camera make, model, lens, location of photo and a few things like that.

ah, didn't think to put the camera in as a tag...good call!

I'll sort all the tags out etc once i've got a few more pics on there, only put a few on when i signed up, gonna go through all my pics and only upload the ones I think are worthy of it me thinks...

Same as really. Got the camera tonight and wanted to take some pics...roses in the kitchen so took a few...look ok imo lol
