The Project Has Started-Sleeper Clio Progress Thread

I bought my 1.2 16V Clio last April as my first car. Completely standard Dynamique, 52,000miles on. My parents actually bought me the car when i was 17. Didnt have a part time job at the time so any mods were very slow. Still a student now but with a part time job so project of a 2.0 litre sleeper clio has started.
What has been done since last April;(mostly temporary as I will be upgrading due to saving more money)
Panasonic Head Unit with ipod cable;

The in January this year I had a full cat back Scorpion system put on;

Also that month i bought some new headlight and sidelight bulbs to give a bright white/blue light instead of the horrible orange effect you get from factory bulbs. Along with some silvervision indicator bulbs.
In March I bought some Pioneer front door speakers, fairly cheap till I get some Focals. Also bought a Fli Active Sub.


Just last month I bought a K&N 57i induction kit for a bit more noise as the Pipercross I had last year fit terribly.

So this is what the Car looks like now after a good wash with AutoGlym;



Over the next 6 months I am sorting out all the minor mods and chasis. New head unit with small dvd screen, speakers etc, clear side repeaters, 172 grille coming tommorow, new plates, Speedline Turini in grey/anthracite, full suspension kit,brakes (4 pots), strut brace, a good service etc. Its had the belts done etc at Christmas.
Once all that is done, the 2.0 bad boy is going in lol. 172 engine with full magnex system, remap, good filter then we'll see what happens.
So what does everyone think??

cheers.yea iv looked into it. There is a lot that needs doing but considering its the same car and the engine fits nice etc, no major complications it should be ok. Need the engine, gear box, ecu, loom, unlocked keys etc and before the engine goes in im doing all the brakes and suspension to support it.

yea its different so im either going to get a sport suspension from a breakers to put in or just get an after-market kit that will be able to support the new engine.

lol yea im a bit stupid, addicted to speed though. my mate just had a 2 litre turbo put in his corsa sri, 188bhp. love the thought of having a sleeper like that. wont be doing the engine till early next year i think so that my insurance has some no claims. iv looked into it. not too bad,.

Yeah i got mine from caraudiodirect, halfrauds will rip you off on the parts you need for it.

Good luck on hetin insurance on a 2L engine at 17/18.. i couldnt on a Corsa Gsi as it was apparantly 2 fast ..

not keen on halfords lyk. just looked like a good price but il stick to car audio direct. Im just a part time barman at the minute. I have got some money saved up in the bank and just working to get the rest.
